Coconut Dark Chocolate Bars (4 Ingredients, No Refined Sugar)
↓ Jump to RecipeCrispy toasted coconut, a snap of dark chocolate — four ingredients. One of the most satisfying healthy snacks you’ll ever make.
These bars are lightly baked until golden, then dipped in dark chocolate and chilled until set. The texture is incredible — crunchy coconut inside, smooth chocolate outside. And at only ~180 calories each, you can actually enjoy them without guilt.
The secret is using full-fat coconut oil to bind the shredded coconut — it creates a bar that holds its shape perfectly after baking. Honey sweetens it naturally. Dark chocolate takes it over the top. You’ll want to make a double batch.

Instructions
-
1Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
-
2Mix the base — combine shredded coconut, melted coconut oil, and honey in a bowl. Mix well until fully coated.
-
3Shape into bars — press the mixture firmly into small bar shapes on the tray. The tighter you press, the better they hold together.
-
4Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly set and just golden. Do not brown. Let cool completely before dipping.
-
5Dip in dark chocolate — melt chocolate over a water bath. Dip each cooled bar using a fork, let excess drip off, place on parchment.
-
6Refrigerate until set — about 20–30 minutes. That first snap through the chocolate into the toasted coconut is everything. 🥥🍫
Notes
- 🥥 Press firmly — the tighter you compact the bars, the better they hold when dipping.
- ❄️ Cool completely before dipping — even slightly warm bars will cause the chocolate to slide off.
- 🍫 Use 70%+ dark chocolate — the bitterness perfectly balances the honey sweetness.
- 🧊 Freeze for up to 3 months — eat straight from frozen for maximum crunch.
- 🍯 Vegan option — swap honey for maple syrup and you’re done.
